What to Expect from Night Care — A Guide for Families

5 March 2025 · Briars Homecare

For many families, the night is the most worrying time. Night care exists to address exactly these concerns — providing professional support through the hours of darkness so everyone can rest more easily.

Sleep-in Care vs Wake-and-Watch Care

Sleep-in care — A carer stays in the client's home overnight, sleeping in a spare room. They are available to assist if needed but are not expected to be awake throughout the night.

Wake-and-watch care — A carer remains awake and alert throughout the night, actively monitoring the client. This is suitable for clients with more complex needs.
